This year’s BRIT Awards will feature a stellar list of performers and presenters.  Insiders told Britain’s Sunday Mirror newspaper that “Scarlett has tentatively agreed to sing and is definitely presenting a BRIT.  It would be real treat.”  If the actress decides to sing at the BRITs, she will join the Kaiser Chiefs, Mark Ronson, Mika and Kylie Minogue, Sir Paul McCartney and other performers.

Scarlett is currently recording an album of Tom Waits cover songs with Rhino Records in the U.S.  She has been invited to sing a track from the upcoming album at the BRITs.

Take That is capitalizing on their comeback LP “Beautiful World” and leads the BRITs with four nominations including Best British Group, Best Live Act and Best British Album.  The popular group is pitted against indie rockers Arctic Monkeys in all three categories.  With them at the top are Mika and Leona Lewis who also have four nominations each.  Other nominees include Bat for Lashes, Kate Nash, KT Turnstall and PJ Harvey against Leona for Best British Female Solo Artist and Jamie T, Mark Ronson, Newton Faulkner and Richard Hawley along with Mika for Best British Male Solo Artist.
